Tums, also known as Calcium Carbonate, is made up of one Calcium, one Carbon, and three Oxygen atoms (CaCO3). Some of its physical properties include it decomposing at 825°C, it has a density of 2.8 g/cm³ and is not soluble in water. Chemical properties of Calcium Carbonate include it reacting with strong acids which release Carbon Dioxide. It also releases Carbon Dioxide when heated to a temperature above 840°C which forms calcium oxide.
Tums is an antacid made of sucrose and calcium carbonate. It helps relieve indigestion, heartburn, and acid indigestion.
